Where Did My Mojo Go?

Back when I began doing this work, I intended to help everyone. I was going to pull the lowest of the low out of the pit of despair. I was going to help heal the sick and lame, the addicts, the mentally ill – everything short of mojoraising them from the dead.

And so, according to the way the system works, that’s who began coming to me. Oh, I had plenty of good, conscious clients showing up who only needed a boost to get them going in a better direction. But I also attracted a large group of people who were simply beyond my reach (if you think that means you, it probably doesn’t).

All fall down…?

It’s like we’re all climbing a ladder. You can reach down a rung or two and help the next guy up – but if they’re, say, three or four rungs down it’s just too much of a stretch. Your arms aren’t long enough. Not only that but in that effort it can happen that you fall further down the ladder yourself. Trying to help those who are unreachable left me feeling like a failure. Was I simply not up to it? Was I a fake; a false prophet who promised much but sometimes couldn’t deliver?

Nope. What I learned from that period was that there are a select groups of souls who are ready for me, and some who are not… and some who already have what I bring and don’t need it. Of course, it often occurs that these people don’t see themselves clearly enough to know which group they belong to. People usually assume that they’re in the next group up, it appears.

Not my tribe…

When I’m contacted by someone who clearly wants me to do the work for them, or have already made up their minds about what’s wrong… they’re too far down the ladder. Some have done some work and some reading and want a bit of clarity… but when we begin the work, it turns out that they’re unable to accept the help they’ve paid to get. It always amazes me when I get resistance to the point where someone won’t even attempt to try what I tell them, because they already “know”. Of course, on a level we all do “know”. But sometimes we mistake the ego’s arrogant bullshit for the real knowing. To think otherwise would be to diminish us in some way. Not productive.

My tribe…

But lately that problem of attracting the “wrong” people has pretty much resolved itself. I’ve changed my standards. I’m no longer trying to save the very lost – it’s beyond my capabilities to help, and it’s beyond their ability to receive help. It’s like giving a Maserati to a person who can’t drive a car. They need to learn some fundamentals first from elsewhere… then we can talk.

My focus now is on people who are well on their way, or who have the resources in place but don’t know what to do with them. They have awakened to the idea that there’s so much more out there for them, but aren’t quite clear on how to get there. They’re not fussing about demons chasing them around, or focusing on trying to talk to archangels. They’re in the place I was 6 or 7 years ago, and that’s why I can help them so effectively.

In some cases, they may be in some difficulty around abundance but they’re courageous enough to step up and take a chance and invest in themselves. They somehow find the money to hire me, and that in itself makes them stronger. They get past the fear and energy of lack that says this might not work at all, and that they’ll “lose” something. They take charge. And sometimes, the simple decision to do this begins to change things for them. I always have a talk with a prospective client, and if we’re agreeable the program begins about a week later. Quite often, I’m amazed at what begins to happen for them already, in that week (or even before we actually chat for the first time). The firm decision itself gets the ball rolling.

Just that passion thing

But many of my people now don’t have any glaring problems in their lives. They’re doing reasonably well money-wise, have the relationships (or lack of the same) that suits them. They’ve settled into a career, settled into a place they like. But one day they realize that they’ve become “comfortably numb”. They’ve lost the passion they once had. They have what they need, but they’ve forgotten what they want. Their very soul is kicking inside them like an unborn child, and they can’t ignore it any longer.

These are my people now. The fearless, the awakening, the ones who have thought they’ve lost their mojo and want to find it again. They really have all the fuel they need. I just toss a match and watch them take off.

  2. Hi Jane,

That is a composite photo I made. That is my Dad in the background, from when he was in th eArmy in WWII. I like to think that he rides with me.

Thanks for leaving a comment. 🙂

  3. Hi Michael, I’d like to, but right now, I can’t afford your help, but I have spiritual guides helping and am spiritual. But I’d like to ask you on the photo of the latest email I received – you have your motorbike and next to you is an army man – looks like a ghost/spirit who was related to you? Is this a spirit you know.

    Thanks, in good faith,

    Jane

  4. Hahaha Yes Michael, I relate with this article. I had to get the money to hire you and in that time went through a process that let me accept the suggestions I would later be given. Thank you for this article.

  5. Thanks, Sue. It’s great fun.

How about it _will_ be a good thing working with me? 😉

  6. Great article Michael, the journey you’ve taken, the clarity you’ve attained and the path you’re now on. It’d be a privilege to work with you. Keep on going.
