Is Your Life an If-Then statement?

When attempting to manifest the reality we want, it’s not enough to simply visualize a desired outcome and hope for the best. Visualization is a conscious exercise, and even if we are able to clearly see in our thoughts that which we want, we are not dealing with the underlying layer of thought in the subconscious. It takes a good bit of introspection, but it’s essential that we examine and discover all of the frequencies that we are emanating, because the sum total of the conscious and unconscious is what manifests our circumstances.

When we seem to not be able to create what we want, most commonly there is a condition (or multiple conditions) that we are placing upon the desired outcome; and when this condition(s) is not obvious in our consciousness, this can be an extremely frustrating and insidious situation. This is the time when we usually decide that “this stuff doesn’t work” and abandon our fate to supposed outside random occurrences…all the while actually manifesting a hodgepodge of a reality shaped by our own random frequency output, and inexorably fueled and tainted by the emotions of frustration and anxiety that overtake us.

Again, rooting out the subconscious conditions under which we operate requires much introspection. And they can be incredibly divergent from what would seem to be logical. For instance, if the lack of an energy of deserving-ness is what is hindering our creative process, the limiting belief could be something like “I am fat. Because I am fat, it’s obvious that I lack discipline, and therefore I do not deserve to be successful.” Thus, although being overweight logically should have nothing to do with being successful in other ways, the energy of being undeserving is present and strong enough to keep us from manifesting success. Furthermore, this energy places a condition upon our success; under this particular condition, if we never lose weight, we will never be successful.

There are several possible ways out of this predicament. Continuing with the example, once we’re aware of this condition we’ve constructed we could accept it and proceed to do something about it by losing weight. Finding the strength and discipline to do this and seeing physical results could bring us the sense of deserving-ness that will remove the energy of conditionality. However, there’s a very distinct possibility that this mode of constantly being in an if-then loop will continue in some other form, even after we’ve corrected the specific situation that gave form to the condition. In other words: once we’ve lost the weight, often we’ll simply find another reason to feel undeserving. And so the cycle continues.

The method more likely to produce lasting results is to, rather than attempting to correct the specific situation that we think is producing the limiting belief, decide that there are no limits. If we are able to understand that fact and truly believe it, then the if-then statement is no longer valid. The “if” is wiped away…and obviously, this leaves only the “when”. What we desire will happen; it’s only a question of when it will happen. We only need look around us to see that this particular limiting belief is not real. After all, there are many rich, successful people who are obese.

The reason that this attitudinal change is so important and effective is that it can remove the hindering energy around seemingly insurmountable conditions. If our outcome depends on something that realistically will never change, then we can easily come to the conclusion that there is no hope at all. This is especially true when the condition involves another person, because we cannot effect change in a Universe that belongs to another – free will allows us to change our own reality, and ours alone. Placing a condition upon our own reality that depends upon someone else’s reality changing is a non-starter, and it obviously is a relinquishing of our power of creation to another – in other words, it leads to disempowerment and once again we’re back to allowing the winds of fate to determine our direction.

Now, in some of these situations we can directly affect the condition even if it involves another person. We can divorce the nagging spouse. We can break off contact with the negative acquaintance. We can change jobs. But it’s the real, unresolvable situations where we can only take the step of diminishing the significance of the “if” statement to the point where we are only left with the “then”. An example of this is a case where we, say, are caregiver for an ill loved one – and we feel that this responsibility is standing in the way of our becoming all that we can be. “If” only they would get better, “then” we wold have the time and freedom to manifest our desired reality. If we could just walk away and leave them to their fate, and do it without guilt or shame, that would indeed remove the limiting condition. But for most of us, to abandon them is simply unthinkable. They need us; and for better or worse relinquishing this responsibility is a line that we will not cross. So, in order to not lose all hope, the only alternative is to negotiate the condition to the point where it just doesn’t matter. One need only witness the many “handicapped” people who have gone on to amazing accomplishments to know that this is possible. In these cases, these souls made a conscious decision that their limitation was not a limitation at all; it was simply there to be dealt with, considered, accepted for what it was…and then ignored as ways to get around it were found.

Don’t allow your life to be an if-then statement. There are always going to be roadblocks appearing along your path. But know that whether these roadblocks are real or not is up to you. Your attitude toward them can make them as solid as a brick wall, or you can choose to see them for the phantoms that they really are.
